“In the heart
of my heart
I discovered a pearl,
vast as the stars
and brilliant
as the sun,
and around it, I spun
a web of love,
delicate yet full of strength
and almost invisible
to the naked eye.
For beauty like this
turns to dust
unless it is
bound in trust and love
and fortified with
the sweet gentleness
that only time and care gives things.
And some things, like this,
are worth taking time to protect, I think. “
