I am bursting with delight.
Wouldn’t it be lovely
To caress every flower,
Fingertips outstretched,
Leaning in close
To discover
a thousand perfect perfumes.
Touching noses
All day
with silky petals
Is a dream.
But I keep that to myself
For sweet things,
like petals,
sometimes get lost
When they are tossed
To the wind
And this secret garden
Is too much of my tender heart
To let it be
Swept up
and blown away.”
