“In the slow steadiness
of my heart’s desire
I grew and grew
(amidst the darkness)
toward my highest dreams,
Until, at last,
I burst through the crack
And bloomed
Into an world
so bright it lit my whole being on fire.
And there,
in the wake of my own brilliance,
I finally saw
that I was the starlight
I had always been searching for.”
