“I didn’t know

what is was to transform

Until I had already shattered

into a million shards.

And in the deep faith

Of surrender

I finally learned

how to let myself be cracked open.

And there,

in the space of my breaking open,

I was pierced with

a light so fierce

I could barely tolerate its brilliance.

For only in the wreckage

Can the showers of gold get in.

Only from the very cracks

in the foundation

Can we finally discover

The need necessary

to reach for the

light of our life’s

great awakening.”
